Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

An inexpensive drip coffee maker
Just as the headline stated it’s an inexpensive coffee maker. No bells and/or whistles just a very simplistic coffee maker with a few caveats though. The carafe is super tight when resting on it’s hot plate. When you try to pull out the carafe the whole coffee maker tends to want to come with it. This is regardless of whether it’s full or not. The lid to the water reservoir also comes off really easy but it’s just as easy to put back on as well. Another possible issue or maybe not is that it makes coffee insanely fast in comparison to other automatic drip coffee makers I have owned. You would think it might change the taste of the coffee due to it short brewing time but I haven’t really noticed any as of yet. A true coffee connoisseur might be able to tell but I doubt they would deign to purchase a coffee maker like this to begin with. I suppose time will tell though. All in all this seems to be a good budget-oriented automatic drip coffee maker if all you want to do is make a quick cup of coffee. Hopefully it will last more than a year or two but the way things are purposefully engineered these days I don’t have much faith in that lol.

Small Carafe
Ordered this so I can stop my programmable one from turning off after 2 hours and turn off after 4 hours. And to be able to say “Turn on Coffee maker” if/when I get up early.. Hooked this up to smart plug and programmed. Next morning all was well except after 3 mugs, it was empty. My other maker was a 12 cup and this was 10 cup so something was off. I filled this 10 cup carafe and poured it in to my 12 cup, and it only went up to the 8 cup marking. I tried it 2 more times. So one carafe is off in its measurement. Not the end of the world and I’ll stash this one for visitors that want decaf but we drink a lot of coffee and this carafe is too small.

This is the best coffee pot ever, I would know…
We drink more coffee than Lorelei Gilmore and BLAZE through coffee pots (as in have to get a new Black and Decker or mr. Coffee brand coffee pot every 3-6 months, we just wear them out.) I ordered this one when our last one burned out bc I could get it delivered same day, and my expectations were pretty low. Even when I took it out of the box it just looked like a basic little coffee pot. It’s turned out to be my favorite coffee pot of all time, it brews HOT coffee FAST every time. It comes apart easily to clean and after a ton of use it doesn’t seem to be losing steam yet where by now any other coffee pot we’ve had would’ve been slowing up or acting a bit less enthusiastic by now. We are literally considering buying a few more to have for when we eventually do wear this one out because it’s that great. Definitely the fastest and sturdiest little coffee pot I’ve ever had.

Specs are wrong
I specifically only searched Amazon for coffee makers with a “reusable filter”, only to find that this Proctor Silex incorrectly says it comes with one but mine did not. Now I cannot really test it until I go to the store to buy paper filters, since the Braun coffee maker it replaces used a goldtone reusable filter — and the Braun will not fit this machine. In addition, the cord length on this Proctor Silex machine is laughably short. If you do not have counter space IMMEDIATELY in front of an electrical outlet, this cord will not reach — I had to rearrange all my small appliances to create a space for this. I may just throw this machine in the garbage as a waste of $30.

The product is great, condition is questionable
If not the first impression of the used item being delivered instead of the new one, I would have given a 5 star review. I was too lazy to go through the return or exchange for the $20 worth of it.The item itself so far works great and exactly what I was looking for. However, I received it dusty, dirty with some dried-up dirt around the hot plate, scratched up, it looked like it was somebody’s return but before re sold it was not cleaned or prepared to be re sold. I thought I purchased a new item not used or returned ,but got one of the later.

Replaced with the same brand and style which was over 5 years old.
Use this product to make and keep coffee warm, steep my teas, prepare water for pre boiling when cooking, steeping herbs and botanicals for healthy concoctions. And making protein broths and soups. In other words it is in use or on half the day. I loved the clean design and the heating element keeps things perfect temp. Since it was a search to find one that looked exactly like I had before (a few energy efficient changes were added)…planning to order a backup soon.

Always a winner, just wish it had “auto off”
I looked for the least expensive coffee pot I could find, and this was it. I had a visitor coming over that liked traditional coffee, and I have a nespresso machine I thought she might get in a fight with, and this worked perfectly. I do wish it had an auto off- but I really can’t complain as I said- it was the cheapest I could find at the time, and it works every time. Good for me!

Dinky & cheaply made but it will keep your pot of coffee warm forever
Us coffee drinkers are different as night & day. I have a long period of coffee drinking in the morning but only 1 cup in the late afternoon in order to be able to fall asleep when I go to bed at 4:30 a.m. (curse you, pandemic!)Our old Mr. Coffee died & was replaced with a newer, more expensive, Mr. Coffee maker that automatically shut off after 2 hours. Which means for a couple of months I drank a lot of barely warm coffee which caused me to curse like a sailor. It’s getting impossible to find a coffee maker without a 2 hour timer. This model of Proctor Silex does NOT have a timer. That is exactly why I purchased it. I have hot coffee for hours & then I get up from my chair & turn it off. Brilliant!

No auto-off, power light hard to see on side, unclear warranty. EDIT: stopped working in 4.5 months
Obviously, it’s a great price for a coffee maker. It’s replacing a slightly more expensive coffee maker, and there’s a function I hadn’t even thought about, that is missing. And that’s auto-off. I hadn’t even thought that as a feature to pay attention to, but after living with the functionality all my life, I hope our family can remember to turn this thing off.And second, the illuminated power switch is on the side. Thus, it’s not really clear from the front if the coffee maker is on or off. I’d suggest that any coffee maker that doesn’t turn have auto-off functionality should have a power light front and center, so it’s easy to see if a coffee maker is still on.UPDATE: The size of a cup of coffee on this maker is 20% smaller than a cup of coffee from our previous 12-cup Mr Coffee coffee maker. So while we thought we were only going down 2 cups per batch (12 cup to 10 cup unit), we really went down by 4 cups from our previous maker. I can’t help but feel the smaller cup size in this unit is an attempt to make an 8-cup coffee maker look bigger than it is, and call it a 10-cup coffee maker. I’m dining this unit another star for making us feel crazy about drinking coffee so much faster — we assumed all coffee makers would use the same measurment for a cup.UPDATE 2: Just over 5 months of owning this coffee maker, and it stopped working. The light turns on, but it no longer heats up. It stopped working after making some coffee. It was luke-warm like an hour later. It now fails to make coffee at all. Both Amazon and Proctor-Silex don’t even have a clearly posted warranty on this anywhere online. Regardless, the coffee maker has to be sent in if it is covered, and my guess is the cost to ship the broken coffee maker will be more than half the cost of buying this originally. More annoying is that the Proctor-Silex website doesn’t even state the warranty period. They refer to a broken link, and say to just send the unit in, and if it’s out of warranty, they’ll tell you the cost to fix it. I think a big manufacturer should do better than that. It doesn’t even state the warranty on the product page on Amazon, you have to email to get that information.UPDATE 2.1: Amazon added the warranty info to the page, apparently due to my request. So the good news is the warranty is a full year. The bad news is the cost for me to mail the coffee maker in for repair is $16.57 (w/o tracking), not much less than the cost to buy this new.

Basic, Efficient and Reliable
I use my coffeemaker to make tea in quantity, putting the teabags in the pot then running the water through. I don’t need any fancy features to do this, just a well-made, basic machine that I can depend on. My last coffee maker was another brand and barely lasted 15 months. This Proctor Silex has a 3-year warranty, and I know I’ll probably still be using it longer than that. This company specializes in quality. The lighted Off/On switch is the only feature that might be considered upscale, but since I have occasionally forgotten to turn the machine off when I’m done, I see this as almost a necessity to protect the machine. I felt good about making this purchase, and I now feel even more this was one of my better decisions.

Fine for the price!
I have a talent for breaking things accidentally.. or maybe just bad luck. The lid to the coffee pot broke as soon as I took it out of the box. It would lay on top of the pot just fine but the tiny pieces that held it in place snapped off so I just had to be careful with it. Then yesterday, about 2 months into having it, the spout that brings the water to the coffee grounds broke. I thought it just got twisted out of place but then the water was spitting everywhere and I realized it was broke. It was fine before then! I made plenty of pots of coffee without issue for the whole time I had it. Just be gentle with it and it should do the job!

Excellent
The Proctor Silex 10 Cup Coffee Maker works well. Capacity is 40 ounces (10 cups x 4 ounces per each) which is enough for my needs. No bells and whistles, just a simple on/off switch. The coffee comes out hot (measured at 175° F), and it brews a full pot in about seven minutes. The grab a cup feature works well as does the drip free carafe spout. (Note: If you want coffee hotter than 175, you’re looking at a machine that will cost $100 or better. This machine will be fine for most people.)Build quality seems good for the price. After 18 months of use, brewing a pot each day, I cannot complain. The coffee comes out good and hot. I would purchase this machine again.

This Coffe Maker May Be A Fire Hazzard
This coffeemaker has no auto shut off! You must manually shut it off after you’ve had your last cup. Worse, it sounds like the top element stays on after making coffee which may explain complaints of a short life span, but that’s a guess. If you consider a 6oz cup of coffee a full cup, then I guess it makes 10 cups. Mine came out of the box covered with dust

Messy, flimsy, tossed it in the trash!
I used this product for 3 months. It makes coffee ok, but when you pour the coffee from the carafe into you cup in inevitably spills coffee on the counter. It’s inexpensive and it works, so if you don’t mind a mess every time you use it, buy it.I finally got sick of the mess, and it went in the trash last night. I bought the BUNN coffee maker hoping for better results

Make a good cup of coffee
Have used this brand for years and I especially like being able to remove the pot before it is done brewing and get a cup. This one seems to have a lot of condensation under the lid the next day when I am renewing the filter but it doesn;t effect the flavor or operation.

on/off button on the right side
Nice small unit, especially for the price, but the on/off button and light are on the right side, nearly invisible from most of the room. Seems to use more coffee than my previous maker to achieve the same strength, but I may still be adjusting to the new unit.

It Does What it Says it Will Do
This product does exactly what it says in it’s description. BREW HOT COFFEE… HOWEVER1. the lid on the carafe is defective so that the opening on it does not match the opening on the pot.2. I didn’t realize that there is no water level window so I have to be certain to use the carafe for proper measure3. If you like that clock… this pot doesn’t have that either nor an auto shut offBut the coffee is good and it does what it says. Next time I’ll pay more attention to what I want. Because you never know how much things matter until they are no longer available. So I gave this product a 3.

Basic coffee maker, perfect for a smart home project
My setup:- Google assistant- This coffee maker- A smart outlet adapter- Google routinesI set up two routines:- “Make the coffee,” “turn on the coffee pot” – basically variations on what people in my house would say. It turns the power to the coffee maker on for 3 hours, announces “Good morning! The coffee is being made and will turn itself off in 3 hours. Enjoy your day!” and then starts playing the news.- “Turn off the coffee” (and variations) – turns off the power to the coffee maker off and announces “setting the coffee maker to boil.” (yes, it’s funny to us!)I also named the smart outlet “proctor silex” when setting it up, so I can address it directly by name and not have google misinterpret it for a “turn on” request. That way I can turn on/off with the routines or ask it “is proctor silex on?”My latest update to the routines leans on a new assistant feature that lets it do something when a device does something, such as turning on a fan when the light is turned on. Here, I added a routine so that when the smart outlet for the coffee turns on, Google will announce on all speakers that the coffee maker was turned on. Little bit of a safety backup in case a kid gets a little…. curious.

More trouble than I thought
It has one redeeming feature – the basket is large enough to accept the filter without being scrunched up.I have the following issues with it: It has no viewing port for the water (I got it confused with one that had a port when I ordered it) so the water must be put in the pot and then the arm that goes over the coffee must be moved before it can be put in. The markings on the pot are small and hard to read. It is not surprising that 4 cups on the pot equal two cups of coffee. The power switch is on the side. These problems may not affect you but I have limited counter space and I keep my Brita filter pitcher next to the coffee maker. This creates the following problems for me: one, I have to move the pitcher to turn the machine on or off, two, because I use filtered water I have to remove the pot, open the lid to pour the water, squat down to see if the water is at the right level, move the pitcher some where else so that it does not interfere with pouring the water into the machine and then turn the machine on and finally I can put the pitcher back. In case you are wondering, I cannot switch the machine and the pitcher because the cord is too short (our government at work!). I have never made use of the ability to separate the lid from the pot to put in the dish washer because I live by my self and only run the dish washer about once a week, so I end up washing the pot and filter basket by hand. Another slight annoyance is the valve which allows you to get a cup while it is making causes the filter basket to not sit level when you are filling it if you take it out of the machine. ( I do that to avoid spilling coffee into the water reservoir.)Update: The one redeeming feature of this unit is that it has never had a filter collapse in the time I have had it. I have been annoyed by two things, one, is that the coffee maker is pretty light and the power switch requires some force to turn it on so that you have to use two hands or the coffee maker will scoot across the counter, the second issue is that if you do not hold the lid down when pouring water it dribbles out the sides and onto the counter, or in my case, onto the coffee grinder.

Coffee brews tepid, not hot
A simple, inexpensive coffee maker. Brewed my first pot and was disappointed. The coffee needed to be heated in the microwave because the temperature of the brew was just tepid. This might be fine for people who do not like their coffee hot. I like my coffee at a hot, sip-able temperature and the coffee from this maker is a warm, gulp-able temp.

Works perfect well with my WiFi smart switch
I wanted a coffee pot that I could use with a smart switch (Gosund) to turn On each morning. This allows me to turn the pot on from the other side of the house without having to walk to the kitchen. The pot is 1/2 the size of the programmable one it replaced. It is nothing fancy and my daughter made fun of it. Okay, no coffee for her.

Coffee Maker
I wanted a plain and simple coffee maker and this is it. No fancy bells and whistles. Just pour in the water, put coffee filter and coffee grounds in the basket, push the “on/off” button and wait a few minutes until the water runs over the coffee grounds and turns into coffee. That’s it. Enjoy.

Strongly recommend spending and extra $5-20 on a better machine, lack of automatic shut off makes this a messy headache
Overall, this is a solid coffee-maker with a few drawback and one really fatal flaw.My last two coffee-makers have been $20-25 Coffee-mates. We just moved and this was only ~$15 at the time of purchase. Given our other expenses and relatively small kitchen, I tried to save a few bucks and some counter space and am regretting it.On the plus side, the coffee pot is a good size. The item’s footprint is small. And it brews a perfectly decent cup of black coffee. If you are really hurting financially, you could do worse. However, there are a few big drawbacks and I will start with the biggest one – there is not automatic shut off for the coffee’s warming plane. Coffee-mate had a feature where the machine (and therefore the warming plane) would automatically shut off after two hours. I could brew some coffee, go about my day and come grab some more when needed. With Proctor-Silex, if you are not actively monitoring your coffee, it will burn away and actually make a mess of both the coffee pot and the counter. This alone makes me regret the purchase. An extra $5-10 to not worry about my coffee pot getting brown grim all over the counter and being tough to clean is a trade-off I would make in a heartbeat.I have also found the pieces to be a big cheap and have had a hard time getting the filter basket to fit back into the top section. The shape of the coffee-pot also inevitably leads to some water spillage when trying to pour into the water reservoir.Personally, I wish I had just stuck to my previous brand, but I also understand not everyone loves it. But I would strongly recommend paying a bit extra for a much better coffee pot. It’s not worth saving $5-20 given the headaches and damage this one can cause.

BASIC coffee maker!
Very basic coffee maker. With a switch. No clock, no timer, no nothing. Just a no-frills coffee maker, which is exactly what I wanted. Do be careful of the switch – there is no auto shutoff, and it is easy to hit the switch when moving the coffee maker around.Tip – for great coffee, use standard filters and espresso ground GOOD quality coffee in this machine.
